THEME 1: THE ENERGY SYSTEM

They say that no person is an island. The same is true of neighbourhoods in the energy world. In this section Helen will take us through how our homes and neighbourhoods are connected to a web of energy sources and systems and how shifting towards renewable energy is needed for a low carbon future.

1. Where our energy comes from and how it gets to you (the infrastructure)

2. Who is involved in getting the energy to us?

3. How is the energy system changing? (decarbonisation & decentralisation)

4. Everything is connected

5. How can we decarbonise at a neighbourhood level?

THEME 2: ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN THE HOME

How can we make our homes warmer, comfier, healthier, greener and with lower energy bills? In this section Aneaka will take us on a journey through our homes to see how they lose and use energy and find out what measures we can take to keep the heat locked up.

1. Fabric first and heat loss in the home

2. How to stop losing heat from our homes

3. Ventilation

THEME 3: COMMUNITY ENERGY

How can we as citizen’s and local residents own and develop local energy infrastructure, such as solar or wind generation or for example electric car or bike sharing clubs?
